Russel Myers:
After graduation I met my wife Mary Ann while attending the
VPI extension in Norfolk. I served
in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965 as a Russian linguist. My last Air Force
assignment was at the National Security Agency in Fort
Meade, MD, where I accepted a
job in federal civil service. While at NSA, I obtained a BA from the University
of MD and an MS from The American
University. In 1978 I moved back to VB where I retired from civil service in
August 1997 as a Navy Intelligence Senior Executive (SES). Concurrent with my
civil service career, I served in the Army Reserves for 23 years, retiring in
1996 as a Lieutenant Colonel. In 2007 I retired after 10 years as a defense
contractor with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. We have four
children and five granddaughters, all residing in the local area. We divide our
time between a beach house in the Outer Banks of NC and a home in VB.
