Georgeanna Query:
1960 seems like yesterday, yet so long ago that I hardly
remember it, perhaps because I transferred in my senior year and didn't get to
know that many of my classmates. However, after graduation life seem to pick up
speed and many wonderful things happened to me. After graduation I went to work
for Ames and Brownley
at Janaf Shopping
Center (remember that?). From there I went to the
downtown store as a department head and buyer for pre-teens. After four years
with them I left and went on to Columbia
Bible College
in Columbia, SC.
I came back from CBC and went to work at
Center Shops, first in the buying office and then out to Youngland
children’s store in Southern Shopping Center. After working there for three
years I met the neatest guy I'd ever met. In 1968 we were married and after a
year of him working with a Christian Servicemen's Center, he applied for a
radio station there in Norfolk. He
was awarded it and thus began the Bible Broadcasting Network. From that one
station there in Norfolk (WYFI
99.7), it has grown to a network that reaches around the world. There are over
100 outlets here in the USA
and also over 100 in South America. Through the Internet
we are reaching six other languages. All around the world people are listening
to "All Christian radio, all day long." If you're interested in
learning more go to www.bbnradio.org and
check it out. Lowell and I have been married 41 years and have two daughters,
both married and they each have two children. I have been greatly blessed
and I'm thankful for all that has been given to me by my Heavenly Father.
