Kathey Stencen:

After college I married and was a Navy wife for 30 years.  As a mother of two children, I occasionally worked part-time until my children were in middle school when I went to work full time for a bank and later for Fairfax County Public Schools as an Administrative Assistant.  I have remarried and we are now retired to our dream house on the water in the Northern Neck of Virginia near the Chesapeake Bay.  My husband and I are Master Gardeners.  I have six grandchildren in Virginia, three living in Burke and three in Weyer’s Cave.  My life revolves around the natural world, which gives me peace, harmony and energy. I try to be gentle to the earth.  Building on this philosophy, I recently began writing a column on natural gardening for Chesapeake Style, a local magazine.  Each day holds a new adventure.
